Hugo Dobson (Fynn Valley, Suffolk), winner of the inaugural South East of England Links Championship, is one of three players who will represent the English Golf Union (EGU) in the Finnish Amateur Championship at Helsinki Golf Club on 11th – 13th August. He will be joined by Tom Boys (Royal Liverpool, Cheshire) and Ben Loughrey (Wrag Barn, Wiltshire).

Bradley Neil ensured the Reid Trophy stayed in Scotland when he won the English Boys under 14 Championship at Hesketh in Southport.

The English Golf Union (EGU) has announced that Oscar Jacobson will become their official supplier of off course clothing for the England team from 1st January 2011.

Scotland’s Bradley Neil strengthened his bid to add the English Boys under 14 Championship to his Scottish under 14 title with another solid round in difficult conditions at Hesketh in Southport.

England have named four new caps - Chris Lloyd (The Kendleshire, Gloucestershire), Jack Senior (Heysham, Lancashire), Matthew Southgate (Thorpe Hall, Essex) and Darren Wright (Rowlands Castle, Hampshire, IoW & CI) - in their 11-man squad for the Home Internationals at Ashburnham Golf Club in Wales on 11th – 13th August.

The Reid Trophy was taken to Scotland last year and there is a good chance it will remain there after Bradley Neil carded a two-under-par 70 to lead after the first round at Hesketh.

Tommy Fleetwood wins the English Amateur Championship, defeating Warren Harmston in the 36 hole final. Other wins from the last three weeks include Callum Shinkwin in the Carris Trophy, Jack Senior in the South of England, David Coupland in the Tillman Trophy, Toby Tree in the McGregor Trophy and Neil Raymond in the Parman Cup.

Tommy Fleetwood is the English champion but only after a nervy performance in a see-saw 36-hole final that went the distance at Little Aston.

There was nothing to separate the finalists, Tommy Fleetwood and Warren Harmston, over the morning round of the English Amateur Championship at Little Aston but both will arguably feel they should be ahead at lunch.

The European Team for the Junior Ryder Cup in September was announced after an exciting conclusion to the European Young Masters at Royal Balaton Golf and Yacht Club in Hungary and included England's Chris Lloyd.

Ross Dee continued his amazing run through the English Amateur Championship this morning by beating boy international James Burnett 2 and 1 to reach this afternoon’s semi-finals.

When you hit your opponent with four successive birdies on the back nine it can prove crucial. That was the case for James Burnett and helped him to a 3 and 1 victory over fellow boy cap Chris Lloyd in round three of the English Amateur Championship at Little Aston.

Max Orrin (North Foreland, Kent), who finished runner-up in the English Boys Under 16 Championship for the McGregor Trophy, supported by FootJoy, is one of three players who will represent the English Golf Union in the 54-hole Harder German Junior Masters at Heddesheim Gut Neuzenhof Golf Club on 3rd – 5th August.

Five members of England’s winning European Men’s Team Championship squad are among a group of 20 players who will represent the English Golf Union (EGU) in the International European Amateur Championship at Vanajanlinna Golf and Country Club in Finland on 4th – 7th August.

Tommy Fleetwood continued his march towards the English Amateur Championship at Little Aston with a 5 and 4 win over Luke Cornford from Sussex, otherwise is wasn’t a good morning for the Lancashire players.
