The McGregor Trophy has gone overseas on three occasions but a fourth could be on the cards after Austria’s Matthias Schwab fired 69 to lead the English Boys Under 16 Stroke Play Championship, supported by FootJoy, at Prince’s in Sandwich.

England has been forced to make a change in its line-up for the European Men’s Team Championships at Österåkers Golf Club in Sweden on 6th – 10th July. Matt Nixon (Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire), has been taken ill and has been replaced by Eddie Pepperell (Drayton Park, BB&O).

Eight former champions plus the current title-holder will be in the 132-strong field for the English Men’s Mid Amateur Championship for the Logan Trophy at Sherwood Forest Golf Club on 2nd – 4th July.
