Dress Code

Dress Code and Related Matters

Like all Golf Courses Wortley Golf Club does have a dress code policy that we expect all of our members and visitors to adhere to. Our policy is sensible and proportionate and should not cause any undue hindrance. The policy covers both our course and clubhouse as follows:

Course

Attire should be smart casual. Shirts should have a collar or roll neck and be worn inside the trousers or shorts. Jeans and cargo-type wear are not allowed. Shorts should be knee-length and tailored. Ladies' attire should be smart golf wear, shorts and skirts should be of reasonable length, and tops should be collared or high-necked.

Only proper golf shoes may be worn. Trainers are not allowed and are not safe on the course.

Clubhouse and Clubhouse Area

Smart casual wear may be worn throughout the Clubhouse and surrounding area at all times. Tracksuits and shirts without collars are not allowed. Shoes and socks must always be worn. Trainers and smart jeans are allowed in the clubhouse. Golf footwear and waterproof clothing is not allowed in the clubhouse except in the changing room areas.

The Board of Directors may change the dress code for specified social events.

Mobile Phones

These should be on silent both on the course and in the Clubhouse. Use on the course is restricted to their use as a GPS course measuring device or as a telephone in emergency situations only. At the Clubhouse calls must be taken outside the building and smartphone usage for messaging and internet services should be discreet, unobtrusive and not cause annoyance to other people.
